How come prostitutes are prostitutes but adult performers are porn "stars"? Is it because noone awards them like they award adult movies?
They both have sex for money. The only difference is some prostitutes really has to do it to make a living, take care of his guy, sick mother..etc but all porn stars make more money than most of us but still continue AND they want us to watch. |
| for me both are the same. "pornstars" are just recording it and also doesnt use a condom. so a whore is a whore |
Do adult male porn stars use erection enhancement pills while shooting porn? Sometimes I wonder if they do because it seems like it would be hard to keep an erection for that long without interruption. |
it's pretty common, working on an adult film set isn't as exciting as it sounds, there's constant interruptions for camera angle changes, position changes etc. many of the positions are made for the benefit of the camera and are not particularly 'pleasurable'.
*and livewire - yes i do, one of my best friends is a rather well known porn actress. |
Why do people become adult porn stars? what is the mentality of a person who gets into the business |
| I think that a majority of female adult movie stars have been sexually abused at least one point in their lives (since the latest statistics are that 1 in 4 women have been raped, and 1 in 2 have been sexually abused) and these women may feel completely comfortable being objectified and looked at purely for lust rather than love or admiration. Also a majority of women who have survived sexual abuse often live more sexually adventurous lifestyles (looking for something more thrilling). I think that this adult movies are viewed more and more as completely normal and acceptable and this is why the movies are getting stranger and stranger (did you see that south park episode when the internet was gone and they had to draw dirty movies on pieces of paper to feed their addictions?) Also... all of the reasons after this are money and attention. A desire for attention, any sort of positive attention (warped, though positive) and money. Everyone needs money, but what are people willing to do to get it.. you know? |
Why are 18 year olds denied tobacco and alcohol but are allowed to be adult x rated movie porn stars? If they are not mature enough to be allowed to buy a beer or smoke , why are they considered mature enough to ruin their lives in porn movies?
is it because the porn industry contributes much money to the politicians? |
| Because 18 year old porn stars are hot. |
How do you think parents of porn stars feel about their porn industry? i mean even though some porn stars are adults while some are younger how do you think their parents feel? even if it is a 30 year old porn star dont you think their parents would be like you know....shocked or something? |
For those who know, I think the majority are
People don't exist in a perpetual state of shock. It's normal to be shocked when you first hear, but eventually you get over it and settle into accepting it or not accepting it. Some parents undoubtedly have disowned their guyren, cut off all ties, said they were dead to them. But the majority, it would seem, are either okay with it (once the initial shock wears off) or wish they wouldn't do it for their safety and emotional health, but recognize that it's their guy's life to live.

Is being an online adult entertainer in ANY way illegal..other than the obvious (Guy porn etc) ? I was wondering if you are an adult online porn star... if it is illegal in ANY way ? I know obviously there are things that could be illegal, like if you are not an adult etc etc, but other than that, is it? |
This is a hard question to answer. Being an entertainer is not illegal but some of the acts you may perform could be illegal. It depends on where you are and what your State & County Obscenity Laws are. I work for a company based in AL and we can't have gay male sex on any of our sites bc it is against State Obscenity laws.
It is best to consult an adult entertainment lawyer or go with a better known company that has their own lawyer and is up on all laws. The LAST thing you want is to be busted for something that you didn't even know existed. You can do a search for your local laws.

What are the downsides of working in the porn business-adult films for a prospective porn star? I recently read a statement in an article from a porn starlette requesting that her fans refrain from asking her too many questions about how to get into the porn business or adult films. She said its too complicated to explain and alot of ins and outs. What did this porn starlette mean? |

For adult entertainment professionals - porn stars, call-girls, producers, exotic dancers, sex workers, models? I am a student investigating the adult entertainment industry, and I want to enhance my understanding of the individuals involved by hearing your very own personal perspective on your work.
Speaking not from your professional, but rather from your personal perspective, tell me what it's like. Do you always enjoy it? Have you had bad experiences/ second thoughts? Do you love your job? DO you have guyren, and if so, how do you manage what your guyren know or do not know about your career?
And on a more personal level, how do you feel about what you do? Do you feel degraded? Do you feel empowered? Etc.
Lastly, how do you hope your participation in the sex industry effects the world around you? Do you believe that you are part of a new era of tolerance and openness, and of liberation? Or do you believe that the sex industry has a negative impact on society?
Let me hear your thoughts on this. |
There are no easy answers to this question, and you're probably not going to hear from any performers. From covering the adult entertainment industry for quite some time, though, I can tell you that cognitive dissonance is a huge issue for many of them (both male and female). While sex is a perfectly natural part of the human experience, sex-as-entertainment is not, especially in Western societies. (George Carlin may have been only half guyding when he asked, "Selling is legal; [intercourse] is legal. So why isn't selling [intercourse] legal?")
That said, it has become more common in recent years for people to begin their adult entertainment careers as performers, then work their way up the ladder to higher-level production (director, producer) or studio-management positions. Most of those people are men, but women are starting to emerge as a force with which to be reckoned, as well. Most of the people making real money in adult are in the upper echelons, and the majority of those folks never have appeared on camera or stage in sexual roles.
Yes, most of the performers are in adult for the money, although in reality the pay isn't isn't very good. Many hope to use adult entertainment as a stepping stone to mainstream Hollywood, and while that sort of progression is more common than it used to be, it remains extremely rare. (By the way, watching from the sidelines on the set of an adult movie is more disappointing -- and sometimes amusing -- than exciting.)
Bottom line: Performers are people too, with all the faults and assets you might find in a plumber, a cab driver, a college professor or a Wall Street wizard. Adult entertainment is just a job for them ... and don't most of us have a strange love/hate relationship with our jobs?
If this question is part of legitimate research, you might consider contacting Adult Video News (AVN.com -- probably NSFW), the trade journal of the adult entertainment industry. Someone there may be willing and able to help you get in touch, discretely, with performers. |
Where can I find a copy of the poster of porn stars posing as the Iwo Jima Statue.? It was made to promote safer working conditions for adult film stars. They were in lengerie posing like the statue holding the US Flag up. I saw it on an office wall in a documentary about the subject and want a copy. Anybody know of it? |
