Is bareback gay sex safe If I've been with the same partner for a long time and we both are disease free? I've been with my boyfriend for a year now, we both get tested regularilly. We don't have anyt STD's or AIDS or anything. |
Do you both have a track record of being totally loyal and monogamous with your partners?
Because, if you are both firmly committed to monogamy and will only have sex with each other, you'd be fine not using condoms -- just like a married couple.
But -- like a married couple -- you'd have to both agree to it.
Good luck! |
Do Bareback Sex in Gay People, causes HIV to be formed? I Heard some one saying that, when gay guys have sex without condom i mean "Bareback", HIV would be formed,
Is this true?? |
| No, no kind of sex will "form" HIV. HIV is a virus that is contagious like when you catch a cold from someone else. In order to get HIV you have to have sex with someone who already has the virus. Anyone who has sex without a condom is at risk of getting it, not just gay guys. |
Had bareback gay sex!? What is the best thing to do after you had bareback gay sex to not to get eny STD's or even be HIV positive? |
| Most STD's cannot be prevented or reversed after the act of intercourse. However, there are some that are treated with antibiotics, such as ghonorrhea and clamydia. You can go to the ER or your regular dr and explain the situation and they will give you some antibiotics and other treatment depending on the individual situation |
Can a virgin, non sexually active gay couple catch HIV if they are both tested negative and have bareback sex? Can a virgin, non sexually active gay couple catch HIV if they are both tested negative and have bareback sex?-------- My friend and I are both bi and have never been sexually active with a male or a female in any way and we both tested negative for HIV. If we have unprotected anal can we get HIV? What is the chance? |
If you've BOTH tested NEGATIVE more than 6 months AFTER any possible exposure (in rare cases it can take 6 months for the antibodies to be detectable in tests), there is NO WAY either of you could get HIV from having sex with each other. You can't be infected by someone who is not already infected.
However, anal sex does have a high risk of HIV transmission, so if one of you IS infected, there is a good chance that the other person could be infected during unprotected anal sex. |
Gay Sex: Bareback? Hi,
I met an older man(35) yesterday. He dresses well, speaks well and seems to be in great shape. He has asked me if I'd like to top him today, doing it bareback. Should I? He says he clean but he could be lying. If he has HIV and I top him bareback is there a risk I could receive HIV? |
| Anyone could have HIV.WEAR PROTECTION!!!!!!!! |
POLL: How many men (straight and/or gay) have had sex (vaginal and/or anal) bareback? Bareback meaning- sex with no condom.
1 - Never
2- Sometimes
3. Always
Before sex, do you consider wearing a condom? If so, how do you know when or when not to wear one?
This is for my Psychology class- I would appreciate all answers. |
With a women , I'll have bareback sex vaginal if I'm comfortable with her history. I'll have bareback anal sex if I feel comfortable with her history and she invites me.
With Men, I've only had bareback anal (he penitrated me) a few times and that was way back before the AIDS thing started. I will not have bareback sex with a man now with out a test.
I do have a problem with putting on a condom. I lose my erection when I start thinking about the 'mechanics' of putting it on. |
Any gay guys out there that enjoy bareback sex? me and my BF have been in a long-term relationship for 2 years now and don't use condoms. Is that cool or not? We're both clean but ya just asking. |
| As long as you are only doing it with each other, just remember to have a shower when you are done. |
Can gay couple get HIV if they have bareback anal sex and neither have HIV and if we ejaculated in each other? I wanna know before i try this with my boyfriend and he said he love to try it cause he loves me i wanna make sure we will both be safe |
| WOW. lol if neither of you have HIV than you OBVIOUSLY can't get it from each other......... |
Gay Sex: Should I BareBack? Hi,
I met an older man(35) yesterday. He dresses well, speaks well and seems to be in great shape. He has asked me if I'd like to top him today, doing it bareback. Should I? He says he clean but he could be lying. If he has HIV and I top him bareback is there a risk I could receive HIV? |
The answer is NO (don't do it)!!
Even if you are serving as the top, there is a chance that you can contract HIV through unprotected sex. Bottoms are not the only ones able to get HIV! That man might not even truly KNOW his status...
As a rule, you should NEVER have unprotected sex. And get tested every 6 months. |
Why has there been a resurgence of bareback gay porn over the last several years? Throughout the late 80's and through the 90's condoms were used in almost all gay adult films. Because of the AIDS epidemic, bareback films were frowned upon. But now into the 2000's, there has been a huge resurgence of bareback gay porn, DVD's and websites.
Is it some kind of [gay] societal rebellion underway against safe sex? |

Excellent question Jason. Interestingly enough, a similar question was posted to me on my blog. While I cannot provide a simple answer as to WHY the resurgence of bareback porn, I can tell you that it remains a controversial topic within the gay men’s community; particularly the leather/kink community; and shed some light on the situation. While some in our community feel that bareback has no place in community events such as International Mr. Leather contest, Folsom Street Fair or Gay Pride celebrations, others view barebacking as a form of Risk Aware Consensual Kink (RACK). This topic continues to generate controversy whenever it is brought-up.
The leather/kink community was one of the first and hardest hit communities since the HIV/AIDS epidemic. As a result, we have lost a generation of men whose knowledge and wisdom are irreplaceable. Many traditions were simply lost and on top of this, the leather/kink community face discrimination even within the gay community based on our sexual proclivities.
It used to be that you cannot watch porn without seeing condoms as a way for porn producers to promote sexual health amongst gay men. The general consensus was “if the porn stars did it, people would likely follow.” It worked for a while but let’s face it. Is it hot to put on a condom during sex? Are we thinking of safer sex while we are engaged in some activity that preoccupies most of our mind? I think not.
With the insurgence of stronger medication and combination therapy, the once feared disease that carried an immediate sentence is now somewhat manageable. Those that survived are now living longer and healthier than the dark days. Many of these survivors carry with them a strong sense of trust, honor and respect a leatherman’s unwritten code of honor. This left many who are interested in fitting into this lifestyle felt isolated and left out as they seek a sense of direction. Combined with poor self image and esteem, they gradually become gift seekers or those that want to be infected.
Is it hot to use a condom during sex? It can be when it is done right. Is it hot not to use a condom during sex? It can be. It’s all in the perspective. While everyone will agree that no sex is ever worth dying for but other than gift seekers/givers, who are we to judge others who practice safe/unsafe sex? It’s all about our own choice.
There is no right or wrong answer to this controversial question. Only personal experiences, choices and statistics which really doesn’t offer much insight. The larger problem we have in hand is our own self-image. Who are we? Why are we the way we are today? Why do we continue to do bad things to ourselves, and to the community?
Do I have the answer to all these questions? No. Do we have the answers to these questions as a collective? Yes!
Thank you for posting this question so we can start engaging in this process of dialogue! I hope I have shed some light on this controversial and erotic topic. |
